FIVE LITTLE VOWELS

Five little vowels swinging from a tree          (Hold up 5 fingers.)
Teasing Mr. Alligator, “Can’t catch me!          (Shake finger.)
You can’t catch me!”
Along came Mr. Alligator quiet as can be       (Open and close palms
And snatched that A right out of the tree.  like the alligator’s mouth.)
/a/ /a/ /a/ /a/ /a/ /a/ /a/ /a/ /a/

Four…three…two…one little vowel…

No little vowels swinging from a tree.
They are busy making every word that you read!

*Draw a tree on a magnetic board and place magnetic letters in the tree.
Remove one letter at a time as you sing the song.

*Adapt the chant for other letters you might be working on.
