BRING ON THE BLOCKS!

Let’s hear it for block play!   Blocks provide children with a meaningful hands-on way to develop math concepts, motor skills, eye-hand coordination, social skills, independence, and their imaginations.  Check out my June monthly activity and you’ll discover some new ideas for reinforcing Common Core State Standards with blocks.
K.J. and Kalina always get out the blocks when they come to visit.

Use blocks for matching upper and lowercase letters, pictures and beginning sounds, or making CVC words.
Use blocks for inequalities, addition, subtraction, measurement, sequencing, and logographic reading.
