HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMERICA!

Fence Art
Give children brightly colored plastic cups.  They can insert the cups in a chain link fence to make designs, patterns, or words.
*Red, white, and blue cups are festive for the 4th of July.

Fire Cracker Sandwich
You will need:
Bread
Peanut butter, jelly, or other favorite sandwich filling
Clear plastic wrap
Yarn or ribbon
Cut the crusts off the bread.  Flatten the bread with a rolling pin.  (The children just like to "smush" it with their hand.)  Spread on your sandwich filling.  Roll up tightly like a jelly roll.  Wrap in a piece of plastic wrap.  Twist the ends of the plastic wrap and tie with a piece of ribbon.  It will look like a firecracker!
Here's the fire cracker sandwich K.J. made for lunch.
Parade
Everybody loves a parade!  Decorate riding toys and wagons with tissue paper, signs, and streamers.  Play some good marching music and off you go!
