Richer than I
you will never be,
for I had a parent
who read to me!
Many teachers have asked me to do a video where I could explain to parents how children learn to read. It's now up on my list of videos on my website (drjean.org) so you can take a look and see if it's something that you might want to share with your parents this coming school year. It's rather simplistic, but the message is strong...talk to them, read to them, sing to them, play with them!
The National I Teach K Conference in Las Vegas was amazing! It was reaffirming and inspiring to see so many teachers from all over the world who still believe in early childhood and love children!

Glad you had a good time!

WOW! I was very excited to be able to be in your sessions at the Academy in El Paso & I was even lucky enough to be selected as volunteers for you and dance and sing with you! You are a ball of fire and have such fantastic ideas. I used many of your songs last school year which was my first year in PPCD & PK after teaching the past 7 years in 3rd, 4th, & 2nd. I was scared and excited and your CDs were very fun for my class. I use many of your songs as our transitions and my students quickly learned that when they heard your particular song it was time to sit on the carpet, line-up, clean up, etc. Thank you for your knowledge and it was a blast to see you today. You are an inspiration!
